What is Veterinary Acupuncture?

Acupuncture for dogs and cats is commonly used to ease chronic pain as well as help with other diseases.

Acupuncture involves stimulating specific points on the body in order to release endorphins (for pain relief and relaxation) as well as to stimulate/support specific trouble organs (for example, the stomach, to relieve vomiting). Many animals find the treatments quite relaxing!

In addition to addressing “modern medicine” complaints, an acupuncture consult also includes an “Eastern” or Chinese medicine evaluation in which the concept of balancing Qi for whole body health will be explained and applied to your pet.

Acupuncture sessions must be scheduled in advance but questions may be directed toward any of our staff members or to Dr. Chesney, the Director of our Acupuncture program.
