Heights Veterinary Associates: Veterinarian and Animal Hospital in Jersey City, NJ
Heights Veterinary Associates is our most recent animal hospital addition, opening in July 2012. This location is a satellite office, offering limited services and availability compared to our larger locations. This means that we may not always be able to accommodate last-minute or urgent appointment requests.
When booking your pet's next visit with us, we ask that you please plan as far ahead as possible. To request vaccine or wellness visits, please use our app "Heights Veterinary Associates" (as long as we have seen your pet within the last 12 months). If you have a specific doctor that you would like to see, please ask for that doctor in advance.
If your pet is in need of an urgent or last-minute visit, please consider our sister hospital, Animal Infirmary of Hoboken.
We wanted to let you know that to protect and preserve our teams and provide the most consistent care possible.
Heights Veterinary Associates will be closed for appointments every Tuesday.
We will have staff members available to answer phones, refill medications, and help redirect our clients to one of our sister hospitals for care if needed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated on any additional schedule changes.
The Team at Heights Veterinary Associates
Pet Care Services in Jersey City, NJ
For your pet’s lifelong care, we offer a full range of services to keep them healthy, happy, and protected from all kinds of threats. See more about our veterinary services below:
Pets need regular checkups to help them stay healthy, just like humans do. At Heights Veterinary Associates, we advise annual exams, including lab work and fecal exams, to screen for illness. We also recommend booster shots as needed and year-round parasite prevention.
Vaccines provide dogs and cats with the protection they need against rabies, distemper, and other deadly viruses. Our animal hospital also offers lifestyle and risk-based vaccines to suit the needs of every pet.
If your pet has bad breath, they might be due to have their teeth cleaned. Our team can perform sedation teeth cleanings to remove plaque and tartar and give your companion fresh breath. We also recommend managing your pet’s dental care at home to slow plaque buildup.
Whether it’s a spay/neuter or something more involved, like exploratory surgery, our veterinary team goes above and beyond to keep your pet safe and comfortable before, during, and after their procedure. If need be, we can also refer your pet to one of our other locations for laser surgery!

“We love this place! I'm hesitant to write a great review because this place is already super popular, however they deserve it. They accept walk-ins which is really convenient, assuming you're ok to come at an off time, or be patient on a Saturday morning. We found them to be very friendly and nice with reasonably priced services. We highly recommend them!!”
- Hailey H.
“The staff here is fantastic, from the receptionists to the techs to the doctors. The feel of the hospital is very comfortable and not clinical like most places. We've seen several of the vets, who have all been great and very helpful. They are also very conscientious about following up on the pet's status which is great. I highly recommend this place.”
- Cayley A.
“The staff here is caring and patient. The doctors are also knowledgeable and answer my many questions. When I've had to wait for test results, the doctors have called me back by the time promised. My cat prefers a kind of food they don't normally carry and they ordered it for me, and continued to order it for me without asking, which is great. I haven't had a problem with wait time, either.”
- Jordan C.
“...really attentive and helpful through our dog’s epilepsy and surgeries. I can't say enough kind things about the practice. This may sound silly, but it is a huge plus that they have parking, which made running our dog in during an emergency a little easier vs. walking across town. Seriously the best vets in Hoboken I can never thank them enough.”
- Brooke S.
“This place LOVES animals, from the front desk to the gentle techs. My dog has had to be there quite a bit this month and I never feel taken advantage of financially (all vets are expensive) but they really CARE about animals. It is never fun watching a pet be sick or injured but I can't recommend them enough.”
- Ellyn M.
“All the doctors are knowledgeable, helpful, caring, friendly, and best of all - approachable with all my questions. They know their stuff, and when they walk into the room - they have already read up all the back ground of the specific pet. I'm quite impressed with their prep work.”
- Klessie P.
“I want to shout it from the rooftops- the Animal Infirmary of Hoboken/Michael Tuder and Associates are INCREDIBLE. They were informative, caring, they followed-up, they did what they could to make my financial situation work, and they treated me not just as another walk-in, but as a long time patient!”
- Frani L.
“From the bottom of my heart I thank all the doctors as well as each and every member of the staff who cared for my Scooter with such professionalism and kindness throughout his entire life. The compassion and understanding that you showed him and me on that last day is something I will never forget.”
- Maria J.
“It meant so much to me that you treated B.J. and Baby Zoey with respect. There aren’t enough beautiful words to express my gratitude. All I could say is if there were more people in the world like you than all our animals would be loved, cared for and happy. You guys are truly the best.”
