Acupuncture for Dogs and Cats in Bayonne, Hoboken and Jersey City
If your pet is on chronic medications or has a medical problem (such as a limp, upset stomach, or anxiety) that traditional medicine is just not quite resolving, you may want to consider pet acupuncture. Acupuncture for dogs and cats is commonly used to ease chronic pain as well as help with other diseases.
What is Veterinary Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves stimulating specific points on the body in order to release endorphins (for pain relief and relaxation) as well as to stimulate/support specific trouble organs (the stomach for vomiting, for example). Many animals find the treatments quite relaxing!
In addition to addressing "modern medicine" complaints, an acupuncture consult also includes an "Eastern" or Chinese medicine evaluation in which the concept of balancing Qi for whole body health will be explained and applied to your pet.
Please feel free to pick up a pamphlet from our office or call for more specific information about these treatments and to see if your pet could benefit by adding veterinary acupuncture to their overall care. Pet acupuncture sessions must be scheduled in advance but questions may be directed toward any of our staff members or to Dr. Chesney, the Director of our Acupuncture program.
“The staff here is fantastic, from the receptionists to the techs to the doctors. The feel of the hospital is very comfortable and not clinical like most places. We've seen several of the vets, who have all been great and very helpful. They are also very conscientious about following up on the pet's status which is great. I highly recommend this place.”

“The staff here is caring and patient. The doctors are also knowledgeable and answer my many questions. When I've had to wait for test results, the doctors have called me back by the time promised. My cat prefers a kind of food they don't normally carry and they ordered it for me, and continued to order it for me without asking, which is great. I haven't had a problem with wait time, either.”
- Jordan C.
“...really attentive and helpful through our dog’s epilepsy and surgeries. I can't say enough kind things about the practice. This may sound silly, but it is a huge plus that they have parking, which made running our dog in during an emergency a little easier vs. walking across town. Seriously the best vets in Hoboken I can never thank them enough.”
- Brooke S.
“This place LOVES animals, from the front desk to the gentle techs. My dog has had to be there quite a bit this month and I never feel taken advantage of financially (all vets are expensive) but they really CARE about animals. It is never fun watching a pet be sick or injured but I can't recommend them enough.”
- Ellyn M.
“All the doctors are knowledgeable, helpful, caring, friendly, and best of all - approachable with all my questions. They know their stuff, and when they walk into the room - they have already read up all the back ground of the specific pet. I'm quite impressed with their prep work.”
- Klessie P.
“From the bottom of my heart I thank all the doctors as well as each and every member of the staff who cared for my Scooter with such professionalism and kindness throughout his entire life. The compassion and understanding that you showed him and me on that last day is something I will never forget.”
- Maria J.
“It meant so much to me that you treated B.J. and Baby Zoey with respect. There aren’t enough beautiful words to express my gratitude. All I could say is if there were more people in the world like you than all our animals would be loved, cared for and happy. You guys are truly the best.”
